Understanding NOx and VOC Pollution

Pure Air, Even In The Big City!

AirSmart NOX monitors the levels of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) in your home or office.

What Are VOC & NOx Pollution?

NOx is a major component of outdoor air pollution, particularly in urban environments with high traffic volumes or as a consequence of bush fires.

VOCs are chemicals that easily become vapours or gases and are emitted from products like paints, cleaning supplies, and building materials.

Health Risks

Monitoring VOCs and NOx in the home is crucial because these pollutants can cause respiratory issues, headaches, and other health problems, particularly for children, the elderly, and those with pre-existing conditions. Long-term exposure can lead to more severe health issues, making it essential to keep these levels in check.

Big City Living

Understanding and controlling NOx pollution is a critical step towards creating healthier, more liveable cities.

Monitoring NOx levels, especially in traffic-congested urban areas, is essential for protecting public health.

High NOx concentrations from vehicle emissions can exacerbate asthma, leading to more frequent and severe attacks. Long-term exposure is also linked to other respiratory issues, cardiovascular diseases, and reduced lung function in children.

By keeping track of NOx levels, we can implement targeted measures to reduce pollution, ultimately improving air quality and safeguarding the health of vulnerable populations.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does AirSmart NOX measure air quality?

AirSmart NOX reports volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and nitrogen oxides (NOx) as two indices on a 0 to 10 scale. Each index compares the air now with the room’s recent history, so it shows when VOCs or NOx rise above what is normal for that room. It is not a concentration in ppb.

AirSmart NOX also measures temperature, humidity and CO₂, and sends real-time data to our app.

Can AirSmart NOX be used in homes and commercial spaces?

Yes, AirSmart NOX is suitable for both residential and commercial environments. It can be used in homes, offices, schools, healthcare facilities, and other spaces where air quality monitoring is essential.

Can I share access to my data with family, healthcare providers, and co-workers?

Yes, Monkeytronics app allows you to share access to your air quality data with family members, healthcare providers, co-workers, or anyone else who needs to monitor the NOx levels in your environment.

How do I customise threshold alerts with AirSmart NOX?

You can customise threshold alerts through Monkeytronics app.

Simply set your desired threshold for the NOx index, and the app will send you notifications if these levels are exceeded, helping you take timely action to improve air quality.

What should I do if the NOx index is high?

If the NOx index is high, increase ventilation in the affected area. You can open windows and doors, activate ventilation systems, or use air purifiers to reduce NOx and improve air quality.
